                                                                NOTICE OF RACE

 

1.      RULES – The Regatta will be governed by the 2005-2008 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of US Sailing,the LBIYRA juniorRules and Regulations, the rules of the C420, the Laser, the Sunfish and the Optimist classes (except as altered by the Sailing Instructions)  and by the sailing instructions.

1.1 Right to appeal will be denied based on rule 70.4.

1.2 Changes to the racing rules: RRS will be changed such that there will be no drops for this event.  Full text of the change will be in the Sailing Instructions.

    

2.      CLASS RULES – The class rules will be used except that RRS 60.1 (a) is changed to prohibit a boat from protesting another boat for an alleged breach of a class rule requiring class membership or imposing a weight limit.

 

3.    NOTICES TO COMPETITORS-

                  3.1 – Notices will be posted on the Porch of the Sr. Clubhouse

                  3.2 - Check in: Wednesday, August 1, 2007.  8:30 – 9:00 a.m.

                  3.3 - Skipper’s Meeting at 9:30 a.m.

                  3.4 – Races will start as close to 10:00 a.m. as possible

            3.5 – No  race shall be started after 3:00 p.m.

 

4.      CLASSES-  BYOB – Unlimited number of boats of each class allowed per yacht club in accordance with LBIYRA regulation #4.

 

 

5.       FEES - $5.00 per sailor, payable at registration (check-in). Cash or checks made out to SBYC.

 

      6.  ELIGIBILITY – for all competitors

            6.1 - Must be a member or a Yacht club belonging to LBIYRA.

            6.2 - Must have a release waiver signed.

            6.3 – Must submit an entry form

 

7.  ADVERTISING – Category A in accordance with RR’s Appendix 1 (Regulation 20).

 

8.       SAILING INSTRUCTIONS – Provided at check in and posted with Notices.

 

9. COURSES – A minimum of two courses will be provided.

9.1 Laser Radial,  Laser 4.7, Laser Full Rig, Sunfish and  C420’s  will sail on a windward/leeward course.

9.2 Optimists will sail on a four legged course.

 

10    SCORING -

10.1 One race will constitute a series.

10.2 Scoring will be done according to LBIYRA Regulation # 10

 

11.    DISCLAIMER OF LIABILITY – The Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk.  See rule 4, Decision to Race.  The  organizing authority will not accept any liability for material damage or personal injury or death sustained in conjunction with or prior to, during or after the regatta.

 

12.  PRIZES – Flags will be provided for the top five finishers in each class. They will be provided by the LBIYRA.
